What are your thoughts on evaluation? What does a mark mean? What motivates you to learn? What do you take away from the evaluation process?

I think evaluation is about how much hard work you put on that project. It is about the worth of your hard work as well. But it is more about examining and judging. Mark means evaluating of performance by assigning a grade or score. Seeing myself in a bright future motivates me to learn.

Your thoughts on the Rome RAFTs. Did you enjoy your topic? What did you learn about Rome? Other than your own whose RAFT did you like the best and why. May 31

Rome RAFTs gave me lots of information about the ancient Rome. All of the presentation were excellent. I definitely enjoyed the topic. I learned that when they were full, they would going to make themselves throw up and then eat again. I like the minecraft thingy because it was creative.

PMI of Ancient Rome Vs US Article
PLUS
-Very similar to the Americanization of today’s world with McDonalds and Starbucks popping up in the most unlikely remote countries of the world, the Romans also put down “roots” all over their occupied territories and left their cultural and architectural footprint on the world.
- Although they fear the parallel with the Roman Empire with its rise and fall, they are oblivious that they are indeed following the same path of destiny.
-The United States is more Roman then we realize, as the Romans bequeathed a format on how imperial business should be handled, and today the Americans in the United States are implementing the same tactics without fail, all the while not realizing the Roman “roots” of these tactics.
-Before September 11, 2001, the United Nation with support from governments from around the world stood on the precipice of a great journey.
-There are some vast differences between Rome and the United States.
MINUS
-From the standpoint of the United States, the complete lack of morals when it comes to human rights violations, only intensifies the demise of implementing “American ways” in a country that is so dissimilar and does not even value our basic inalienable rights.
-The United States was founded on rebellion against another empire, the British Empire, in the name of freedom and self government.
-Romans embraced their status as masters of the known world; however, few Americans would claim bragging rights on their own imperialism.
-These examples only bolster the argument that the United States is embarking on a similar path as the Romans did at the end of their empire.
-Instead of making peace and becoming a stronger nation, by their foreign policy militaristic actions, they are weakening the very fabric of our society. They also worry that like the Romans, they will fall if they continue with a simplistic foreign policy of Americanization of the World.
INTERESTING
- The fall of the Roman Empire occurred primarily due to a lack of foresight.
- The United States with the Iraq war has learned that the “American” way does not always work.
-Rome’s greatest conquest was the seduction of its’ peoples. They would provide them with baths, and central heating as the people never realized that they were enslaved by such wonderful things. Today the United States offers Starbucks, Wal-Mart for 24/7 shopping convenience, and Disneyland for entertainment, just to name a few.
-They found their counterpart in the Internet, or better known as the information Superhighway. The Internet began as a military tool, and arguably is one of the most superior inventions of our time, bringing whole nations together in mere nanoseconds.
-The Romans were known for their infrastructure, including their Roads (or Via) as well as their engineering feats with bridges and aqua ducts, built primarily to enable their military to move more quickly.

Blog 6 - Please provide some feedback and / or thoughts on the First Nation presentation we had on Tuesday.

I think the presentation about the First Nation was very interesting. He gave lots of information about it and a small talk about other culture.

Blog 5 - How did your presentation go? What did you learn about presentating? How was the process? Who do you think had the best presentation and why?

Our presentation went well, because we cover all the details about the Aztecs. I learned how to present without speaking by using xtranormal. The process went good as well because we worked together. I think the best presentation was us (Aztecs), because we put all the important things in that prezi even though we used xtranormal.

When - When did this happen
* The pope resigned on February 28,2013 and on March 12 a new pope will be choosen.

* It is happening in Vatican City.
Why - Most important part. Why did you choose this article. What is its impact. Which of the seven social sciences does it most deal with.
* The most imporatant part is choosing a new Pope, because the world needs a Pope to rule the Catholic world. It impact the whole world because after a long, long time, there hasn't been a Pope that resigned. I think it most deals with History because even if it was past, present, or future there would be definitely a Pope that will resign.

Geological Time

I learned a lot of things that I haven't heard before from Geological Time Activities. For example is the stages or periods of the earth, bacteria's were first thing on the earth before humans, and that after 250 million years continents will stick together.
